Russcarb CFC is densified via the CVD process route and as such is fundamentally different and in many ways superior to most other CFC materials. It is particularly suited for use as a wear resistant surface in high pressure quench vacuum furnaces.
Composition:
Traditional CFC is densified using pitch impregnation. Pitch is a soft material and hence CFC manufactured in this way has inferior resistance to gas erosion compared to Russcarb CFC.
